The planning application is for an 80-room hotel with some rooms equivalent to two and three room suites. In terms of occupation and activity, this is equivalent to a hotel of 90-100 rooms approximately. These are located in a 5-storey monolithic block running the whole width of the site north-south. In addition there is a 3-storey gym and spa, a two-storey beach restaurant plus a bar and a ‘kids club’ with buildings built up to the plot boundaries and close to the sea. Buildings of this height and location are in apparent violation of The Land Development Regulations.

The plans have been prepared by a company in Wuhan, China and indicate that the development will demolish all the wild natural vegetation (approximately half the site cover) and most of the trees on the beach.
